Support that continues
Imagine having a “lactation consultant in your pocket,” offering you evidence-based information, holistic support, and compassion without judgment every step of the way.
No more asking Dr. Google at 3AM, no more conflicting advice from 37 different healthcare providers and family members, no more questioning your own parenting instinct.
I’m here to guide you through your lactation journey, through birth, the early days with your newborn, and the rest of the “fourth trimester.”
Why ongoing support?
Feeding changes quickly.
Packages give us room to respond as breastfeeding, milk supply, sleep, recovery, and your family’s needs evolve. You’ll have an IBCLC walking alongside you for 3, 6, or 12 weeks who already knows you, your history, your feeding goals, and your unique family.
Booking during pregnancy reserves your due date on our calendar and guarantees postpartum availability. You won’t have to wonder who will be available when your baby arrives; your support is already in place.
At The Lactation Expert, we specialize in working with anxious and neurodivergent parents; we find these families in particular benefit from ongoing lactation care.
Support that grows with you and your baby.
Feeding is not a one-time problem to solve. Ongoing lactation support gives you continuity, responsive guidance, and a familiar provider throughout your journey as things change.

Heather is wonderful! She helped us with our first baby back in June of 2025 and now we have a new little one who just joined us this month and as soon as I told her what was going on she made sure to be here the next day for us! She is punctual, communicative, and seriously a major expert in the lactation field! I am impressed by her ability to provide exceptional professional care in the most comfortable environment. Her bedside manners are excellent, she keeps you calm and comfortable through each session. I am so lucky to have found such an amazing person to help me through such a different change in my body!
Thank you, Heather! We appreciate you so much!

Insurance, HSA, and Payment Information
Many families ask about insurance coverage for lactation visits.
While I do not bill insurance directly, many insurance plans will reimburse for lactation visits with an IBCLC. I provide superbills that you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
I also accept HSA and FSA cards, which many families use for prenatal and postpartum lactation visits and packages.
If you plan to use insurance reimbursement, I recommend calling your insurance provider and asking about their reimbursement rate for out-of-network lactation care.
FAQs
-
I find that most families feel the most confident in their care when they book in the second or third trimester of their pregnancy. This gives us time to get to know each other, complete both a virtual prenatal class and an in-person prenatal visit, and make sure you feel ready to breastfeed after birth. The earlier you book, the more likely your due date will be available. I accept a limited number of package clients every month and want to make sure I can accommodate your due date.
-
A package can be helpful when you want continuity instead of treating each feeding concern as a separate event. Feeding changes quickly in the postpartum period, and ongoing care lets us adjust your plan as your baby grows, your milk supply changes, and pumping, bottles, sleep, or returning to work enter the picture.
The other major benefit is access: package clients receive priority scheduling and between-visit support. Families who enroll prenatally can reserve their due date and have guaranteed postpartum availability. That can be especially reassuring if you know uncertainty tends to increase your anxiety or you simply want a familiar expert already in place.
Packages allow us to work together over time, adjusting your plan as your baby grows, preventing small issues from becoming bigger ones, and offering ongoing, personalized support. This kind of continuity is what leads to more sustainable, less stressful feeding outcomes.

Feeding isn’t a one-time problem to solve: it’s a dynamic process that changes week by week in the postpartum period. What works in the early days may need to be adjusted as your baby becomes more alert, your milk supply regulates, or new routines develop.
Ongoing lactation support allows us to respond in real time, supporting breastfeeding, pumping, or combination feeding while also helping you feel more confident and regulated along the way.
-
That’s a wonderful outcome! Your package is about more than troubleshooting; it gives you a trusted expert who knows you and your baby as feeding evolves. We can use our visits for reassurance, understanding your baby’s feeding patterns, introducing bottles, pumping, preparing to return to work, or adjusting your plan as your needs change. I can teach you how to use your baby carrier and breastfeed your baby in it as well as try new breastfeeding positions like sidelying. We also can discuss breastfeeding, sleep, and mental health. You don’t have to wait until something is wrong to benefit from personalized support.
-
Yes! Many midwives and doulas provide valuable breastfeeding guidance, especially in those early days. However, an IBCLC brings additional, specialized expertise in lactation and infant feeding, including assessing latch, milk transfer, supply, pumping, and more complex feeding concerns. An IBCLC completes over 500 hours of clinical care under mentorship as well as 95+ hours of lactation-specific education, making them the gold standard for breastfeeding support.
As an IBCLC, I personally work alongside your midwife, doula, and birth team to give you consistent, individualized support as feeding unfolds. My care also considers your mental health, sensory needs, and daily life, because a feeding plan needs to work for you as well as your baby.
-
You can reach out by text, voice memo, or email with questions, updates, or concerns throughout your package. Whether you’re wondering about a new feeding pattern, need help adjusting your plan, or simply want reassurance, you have someone who knows your situation to turn to.
I generally respond within about 24 hours, with support available Monday–Friday and limited weekend availability. Between-visit support isn’t an emergency service; urgent medical concerns should go directly to your or your baby’s healthcare provider.

While I do not bill insurance directly, many insurance plans will reimburse for lactation visits with an IBCLC. I provide superbills that you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. HSA and FSA cards are also accepted for prenatal and postpartum lactation visits and packages. Ask me about payment plans for ongoing lactation support packages.
