Compassionate Lactation Support & Parent Coaching for Families in Austin and Beyond

Meet Heather Eure, PhD, IBCLC, PMH-C

(she/her)

As an Austin-based lactation consultant and parent coach (offering both in-home and virtual support), I help families who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or unsure about feeding their baby or navigating early parenthood, so they can feel more confident, calm, and connected in both body and mind.

10+ years supporting families

Heather Latiolais Eure Austin IBCLC

I’m an Austin-based lactation consultant, parent coach, international speaker, educator of IBCLCs and perinatal professionals, and mother of three children. My enthusiasm for working with growing families is fueled by my own adventures in parenting. My journey through motherhood has brought me to my knees; it has challenged and humbled me in ways I never anticipated. I know how hard parenting is and feel honored to be a part of the early days home with a new baby, helping folks receive the support they need through this life-altering transition.

My work with families is evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming, and gender-affirming. I have a Perinatal Mental Health Certificate through Postpartum Support International and am a Certified Perinatal Neurodiverse Lactation Specialist. I am particularly adept at supporting parents with mental health concerns, parents at risk for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and neurodivergent parents (such as ADHDers and Autistic parents). I like to say that I support “all kinds of families with all kinds of brains.”

A fun fact about me: Once upon a time, I completed a PhD in Comparative Literature. The title of my dissertation was Illegible Women: Feminine Fakes, Facades, and Counterfeits in Nineteenth-Century Literature and Culture. My research informed my conceptualization of gender identity, which helps me help families navigate the identity shift that occurs during early parenthood. Finally, my teaching experience armed me with the excellent counseling skills I need to make families feel heard and help them find the path that works best for them.

When I’m not supporting families, you can find me throwing heavy things around at the gym or practicing at my favorite Pilates-meets-aerial-silks studio.

Honey/LaKaye is a postpartum doula and student-IBCLC completing her clinical education under the mentorship of Heather Eure, PhD at The Lactation Expert.

With a wealth of both personal and professional experience in human wellness, body work and providing community care, she brings a warm, relational approach to supporting families through the postpartum season and infant-feeding journey.

Her work is grounded in compassionate, individualized care and a belief that parents deserve to be and feel informed, supported, validated and confident caring for their infants intuitively through somatic practices such as baby+me yoga and infant massage in south austin.

As part of her supervised clinical training, Honey may accompany Heather to lactation visits with each family's knowledge and consent. She is committed to honoring the privacy, autonomy, and comfort of every family she has the privilege of learning alongside.

When not actively birth working, you can catch her under the sun at the greenbelt with her two daughters, travelling, and learning how to sail.
