Heather is so helpful! My second son was in the NICU for a week, had a severe tongue tie and flow confusion…Heather was referred by a friend and was able to meet quickly for a home visit. She introduced simple ways to improve his latch and nursing overall as well as provide guidance around my pumping schedule. She was very easy going, did not make me feel judged at all and was kind!...I highly recommend her services!”

Single Lactation Visits (Limited Availability):
Investment: $375
90-minute In-Home Visit in Austin, Texas and the surrounding areas
For focused breastfeeding, pumping, or bottle-feeding support
In some situations, a single in-home lactation visit can be helpful—especially if you’re looking for support with a specific feeding concern.
During your visit, we’ll assess feeding, milk transfer, and your baby’s oral function as needed, and create a personalized plan you can follow at home.
That said, most feeding challenges unfold over time. Ongoing, relationship-based support allows us to adjust your plan as your baby grows, protect your milk supply, and support your nervous system through the ups and downs of early parenting.
Because of this, one-time visits are offered selectively and based on availability.
If we begin with a single visit and it becomes clear that more support would be helpful, you’ll have the option to apply your visit toward a package within 48 hours.
If you’re unsure what level of breastfeeding support is the best fit, I recommend starting with a Parent Support Call so we can talk it through together.
Insurance, HSA, and Payment Information
Many families ask about insurance coverage for lactation visits.
While I do not bill insurance directly, many insurance plans will reimburse for lactation visits with an IBCLC. I provide superbills that you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
I also accept HSA and FSA cards, which many families use for prenatal and postpartum lactation visits and packages.
If you plan to use insurance reimbursement, I recommend calling your insurance provider and asking about their reimbursement rate for out-of-network lactation care.
FAQ’s
-
Most families who reach out for breastfeeding help need more than one visit. Feeding challenges often evolve over time, and even when things improve, new questions come up around milk supply, pumping, bottle feeding, sleep, and transitions like returning to work.
Packages allow us to work together over time—adjusting your plan as your baby grows, preventing small issues from becoming bigger ones, and offering ongoing, personalized support. This kind of continuity is what leads to more sustainable, less stressful feeding outcomes.
-
Feeding isn’t a one-time problem to solve—it’s a dynamic process that changes week by week in the postpartum period. What works in the early days may need to be adjusted as your baby becomes more alert, your milk supply regulates, or new routines develop.
Ongoing lactation support allows us to respond in real time—supporting breastfeeding, pumping, or combination feeding while also helping you feel more confident and regulated along the way.
-
Many families in Austin choose ongoing lactation support not because something is wrong, but because they want things to keep going well.
Even when feeding feels smooth, there are always ways to refine and build on what’s working. We might explore more comfortable or sustainable feeding positions (like side-lying), practice nursing in a baby carrier, fine-tune your latch or milk transfer, or introduce pumping and bottles in a way that supports your goals.
We can also talk through sleep, developmental milestones, and the day-to-day realities of feeding as your baby grows—so you feel prepared, not caught off guard
-
As an Austin lactation consultant (IBCLC), I support families with all aspects of infant feeding, including breastfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, and combination feeding.
This includes concerns like latch difficulties, low or oversupply, pain with feeding, slow weight gain, reflux, bottle refusal, tongue and lip ties, and feeding transitions over time—while also supporting your mental health and nervous system throughout the postpartum period.
-
Yes. As an IBCLC in Austin, Texas, I work with many families navigating feeding challenges related to tongue ties, oral function, and painful or ineffective feeding.
Babies with tethered oral tissues may struggle with latch, milk transfer, weight gain, prolonged feeds, reflux-like symptoms, clicking, or difficulty feeding comfortably and efficiently. Parents may experience nipple pain, low milk supply, clogged ducts, or the feeling that feeding is taking over their entire day.
During our visits, I assess feeding, oral function, and milk transfer while looking at the bigger picture for both baby and parent. I also support families before and after frenotomy procedures, including help with breastfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, and protecting milk supply throughout the process.
-
Most feeding challenges don’t resolve in a single appointment. Feeding changes quickly in the postpartum period, and what’s happening in the early days often evolves week by week.
Ongoing lactation support allows us to adjust your feeding plan as your baby grows, your milk supply changes, and new challenges arise. Instead of starting over every time something shifts, you’ll have consistent support from someone who already knows your history, goals, and feeding journey.
This kind of continuity often leads to less stress, more confidence, and more sustainable feeding outcomes over time.
-
You’ll have access to ongoing support between visits for questions, updates, and adjustments to your feeding plan. This includes text, email, and voice memo support, as well as virtual check-ins depending on your package.
This is often where the most meaningful support happens—when something comes up in real time and you don’t have to figure it out on your own, or wait for your next appointment to get support.
-
Same-day appointments are sometimes available, depending on my schedule, and are often available with the purchase of a package for families who need more immediate postpartum support.
If you’re looking for urgent help, reaching out sooner rather than later gives us the best chance of finding a time that works.
-
I don’t bill health insurance directly. This allows me to provide the highest level of services, including longer, more personalized visits, ongoing communication between visits, and continuity of care—things that are often limited in insurance-based lactation support.
Many families are able to use HSA/FSA funds, and I can provide a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
-
You can book during pregnancy or anytime postpartum. Many families choose to book early to ensure support is in place from the beginning, while others reach out when something feels off or they simply want more guidance.
If you’re unsure what you need, starting with a Parent Support Call is a great place to begin.
You don’t have to figure feeding out alone.
